Double digit E-Commerce B2C revenue growth europe 2010, 2011


Forecasts predict double digit growth for B2C E-Commerce revenue from 2010 to 2011, following the trend from 2009 to 2010, where revenue had already shown a strong increase.  According to the “Central Europe B2C E-Commerce Report 2011” by yStats.com in 2010 “clothing and sporting goods” was the most popular category for online purchases, followed by the categories “books, magazines, e-learning resources”, “films/music” and “household items”.

American E-Commerce competition om Europe increasing


The 28 American online merchants active in Europe could increase their local sales by 25% and increase their share of the overall European online trading volume to 22%. over 2010.

Competition from American e-commerce tailers on the European B2C market is intensifying. Following many ultimately unsuccessful attempts by American department stores and supermarkets to expand overseas, e-commerce represents the long-awaited opportunity to conquer the European market. 

Although a market share of 22% initially appears to be not too much of a threat, European operators should keep an eye on their American competitors
